WYE MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY CHURCH is hosting a Shoe Drive Fundraiser
The community is invited to participate in a shoe drive fundraiser. We encourage everyone to clean out their closets and donate gently worn, used, or new shoes to help raise funds for community outreach programs. The amount of money raised will be determined by the total weight of the shoes collected.
All donated shoes will be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of micro-enterprises and small business partners. Funds2Orgs works with micro-entrepreneurs in helping them create, maintain, and grow small businesses in developing countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes collected in shoe drive fundraisers are used to feed, clothe, and house their families. One budding entrepreneur in Haiti even earned enough to send her son to law school.
By donating gently worn, used, and new shoes to SHOE US SOME LOVE, the shoes will be given a second chance and make a difference in people’s lives worldwide
WHEN:
January 10th – March 25th 2026
WHERE:
We have a box inside the foyer at the church for shoe drop-off, or you can bring them to the festival. Wye Mountain Community Church is hosting a shoe drive in conjunction with the Daffodil Festival.
In the United States alone, over 300 million pairs of shoes are thrown away every year. The materials used to make shoes contain chemical compounds that can create health hazards if they are left to break down openly or are discarded in landfills. By donating your gently worn, used, or new shoes to the SHOE US SOME LOVE, you are not only helping to raise funds for a local cause but also making a positive impact on the environment and supporting global communities.
- All types and sizes of shoes are welcome.
- Please ensure shoes are in gently worn, used, or new condition.
